  • Carl F. Bucherer has unveiled a new addition to the Manero family, the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral. This timepiece is a bold statement piece designed for watch aficionados who want to express themselves with confidence. It combines high-end watchmaking complications with contemporary design.

The Manero collection has always been known for its functionality, innovation, and contemporary design. The Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral is no exception. It features a complex movement, the CFB T3000 manufacture caliber, which was entirely designed, developed and assembled in-house by Carl F. Bucherer. This movement is the first to ever combine a peripheral automatic winding system with a peripherally mounted floating tourbillon. The peripheral automatic winding system is driven by a bidirectional oscillating weight, which provides enough power to create a power reserve of 65 hours.

One of the most striking features of the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral is its dial. The dial we see in the image is a vivid blue, but the watch also comes in green and purple. The color is achieved with a semi-transparent colored lacquer that is applied to a laser-patterned dial. This laser-patterning technique creates a unique three-dimensional guilloche effect. The result is a dial that shimmers as it catches the light. The dial also features 11 baguette-cut diamonds which act as hour markers.

The case of the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral is made of 18K rose gold. The rose gold case is complemented by rose-gold-plated hands. The bezel is set with 40 baguette-cut gemstones. The gemstones come in three colors: blue sapphires, tsavorites, or amethysts. Each gemstone is naturally occurring and hand-selected to match the color of the dial.

Picture this: a network of 189 individual components, meticulously assembled by the skilled hands of CFB's master watchmakers. This tiny, intricate machine serves a singular purpose – to keep time with unwavering precision, all while putting on an enthralling mechanical ballet under the sapphire crystal.

The tourbillon, a rotating mechanism designed to counteract the effects of gravity on a watch's accuracy, has held a mythical status among watch enthusiasts. Carl F. Bucherer is known for its expertise in this complex complication. In the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral, the tourbillon is a thing of beauty – both technically and aesthetically.

The "floating" effect is achieved with a peripherally-mounted design. Unlike traditional tourbillons anchored by bridges, it seems to hover in mid-air. This design makes the visual spectacle that much more impressive. The tourbillon cage makes one complete rotation every minute, a mesmerizing display of mechanical ingenuity.

Powering this intricate timepiece is the peripheral automatic winding system. Most automatic watches use a central oscillating rotor that you can sometimes catch a glimpse of through the case back. The Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral takes a different approach with a ring-shaped rotor rotating around the movement's edge.

This innovative design has several advantages. It offers an unobstructed view of the movement, adding to the mechanical theatrics. Also, it generates impressive power, resulting in the watch's 65-hour power reserve - that's well over two days of ticking away even if you decide to take it off for a while.

The CFB T3000 isn't just about impressive complications – it prioritizes the everyday usefulness of a wristwatch. It boasts a stop-seconds function, an uncommon feature in tourbillon watches. This allows you to halt the tourbillon cage, enabling precise synchronization to reference time. Think of it like being able to pause that captivating spin for a second to make sure you're perfectly in sync.

The beating heart of the movement, the balance wheel, oscillates at a frequency of 3 hertz or 21,600 vibrations per hour. This contributes to the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral's exceptional accuracy. Moreover, parts of the escapement are crafted from silicon. This modern material reduces friction, boosts power reserve, and doesn't require lubrication, making the watch more reliable in the long run.

The CFB T3000 movement is more than just a collection of gears and springs. It's a testament to the brand's dedication to excellence and pushing the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking. Every surface, no matter how minuscule, is meticulously finished. From the gleaming jewels embedded within to the hand-polished bridges, it's a masterpiece of both micro-engineering and artistic touch.

"The T3000 movement is one of CFB's crowning glories.," says Samir Merdanovic, CFB's Chief Technology Officer, "...the floating appearance of our tourbillon lends the piece an unbelievable, almost magical quality."

The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral transcends mere timekeeping. It's a celebration of technical achievement, of traditional craftsmanship infused with contemporary flair. This watch isn't for those who want to fade into the background. The vibrant colors, the sparkling dial, and the audacious bezel adorned with precious stones make a statement before anyone even catches a glimpse of that mesmerizing tourbillon.

The Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral speaks the language of confident individuality. It's made for those who chart their own paths, those who value not only the mechanics of time, but also the art of expressing themselves with boldness. It's a horological embodiment of the adventurous spirit of the 21st century.
