The latest creation from ArtyA with the queen complication of watchmaking, the minute repeater. There’s no question that there is a lot going on in Artya’s newest complication, expanding the brand’s Complications line, and that’s exactly how Yvan Arpa, founder and CEO of ArtyA, wanted it.

This case is the latest evolution of our iconic Minute Repeater with 3 Gongs, regulator and Double Axis Tourbillon. The first project was initiated when Arpa created the Son of Sound tourbillon and he started to think about expanding the collection to include a special minute repeater. Inspired by the exceptional sound of the famous Bo Diddley 1959 Gretsch guitar, Arpa designed a unique case to amplify the sound and show off the incredible movement, the main plate of which looks like the Gretsch guitar.

Using sapphire crystal on the sides, the top and the bottom, the case itself is a work of art. The expertise of ArtyA with Sapphire watches has allowed us to shape a complete one front ultra-domed sapphire glass which was not possible with the original version. From every angle the look of the watch is amazing and totally different. It was a challenge to modernise the original box (64.00 mm x 47.30 mm x 18.60 mm to 44.20 mm x 42.30 mm x 16.14 mm) to create a more modern and complex piece.

Equipped by a one-minute tourbillon this exceptional timepiece is the result of a considerable work to maximize the purity, the power and the clarity of the sound. The purpose of the minute-repeater’s complex mechanism is to indicate the time by sound. The ArtyA Minute Repeater Quadriangle enjoys theluxury of being in tune with the very reason that gave rise to the repeater: master watchmakers invented the device in the days when their wealthy clients had no light switches. When the candles went out, they had to be able to hear the time. This exceptional piece is a tribute to our friend Pierre Favre of MHC who made the minute repeater 3 gongs, regulator, and double axis tourbillon.

In the heart of Geneva, amidst the traditional charm and sophisticated refinement of Swiss watchmaking, stands a brand that defies convention. Founded in 2009 by Yvan Arpa, ArtyA is challenging the field of time measurement with its raw creative force of unbounded limits. The former maths teacher has made major contributions to some of the watch industry’s greatest successes, in which he has evolved over 30 years of expertise, leading him today to run his own independent and authentic watch brand. With ArtyA, he has embarked on a path of artistic freedom, combining his in-depth knowledge of watchmaking with an audacious creative spirit to bring to life works of art that tell the time.

Dominique Arpa-Cirpka, Yvan’s creative and life partner, brings her exceptional artistic talent to the ArtyA collections. Since the brand’s inception, she has been creating unique dials using a plethora of artistic techniques never before seen in the watchmaking industry. From the use of butterfly wings and seaweed to gold leaf and natural pigments or diamond dust, Dominique’s work on watch dials reflects ArtyA’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of conventional watch design.

The ArtyA Chorus Minute Repeater’s case evolved from the iconic ArtyA 3 Gongs Minute Repeater with Regulator. Clad in sapphire crystal on all sides, the case is truly a work of art. ArtyA’s sapphire savoir-faire and extensive experience in creating complete cases in this material made it possible to craft a superior curved crystal – to a degree that was not achievable on the original. Indeed, modernizing the case has given the piece a character all its own.

The case design was inspired by houses designed for living at the bottom of the ocean, while all the materials used for the case as well as its shape are all intended to maximize the sound. The imposing skeletonized dial overhangs the tourbillon in levitation, giving a unique depth effect to this piece.

This exceptional piece is the result of a considerable work to maximize the purity, the power, and the clarity of the sound. Striking on “Saint Pierre” traditional gongs, the repeater slide is at 9 o'clock and equipped with a flying one-minute tourbillon, balance with gold adjustment screws, and 1 tour/minute. The time indications include hours, minutes, seconds on tourbillon. The movement is 6.10 mm in height without module and 9.80 mm in height total. The movement height with hands is 10.55 mm. There are 317 parts with 29 jewels and anti-shock systems. The power reserve is 90 hours with a balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
