Description
The Sinn 140 St, reference 140.020, represents a technically advanced evolution of the historically significant 140 series. Central to its operation is the SINN SZ01 chronograph movement, a self-winding mechanism featuring 28 bearing jewels and operating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour. A key distinction of the SZ01 is the centrally positioned, jump 60-minute stopwatch hand, which provides a highly legible display of elapsed chronograph minutes. This configuration departs from traditional subdial minute counters, facilitating at-a-glance readings. The movement also includes a seconds stop function, enabling precise time setting. The 140 St maintains resistance to magnetic fields as outlined in DIN 8309 standards, ensuring accurate timekeeping in environments with magnetic interference.
The watch case, with a diameter of 44mm and a thickness of 15mm, is constructed from bead-blasted stainless steel. Sinn's proprietary TEGIMENT technology is applied to the case surface, significantly increasing its hardness and scratch resistance. Integrated into the design are the D3-System push-pieces and crown, streamlining their profile and improving durability. An internal pilot's bezel, complete with a luminous key mark, allows for additional timing functionality. A scale for displaying a quarter of a second is included for short time measurement. The case back is screw-fastened and nickel-free, while the front features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, maximizing clarity. The watch guarantees water and pressure resistance up to 10 bar, while remaining resistant to low-pressure environments. Sinn's Ar-Dehumidifying Technology is integrated into the 140 St, mitigating internal fogging and improving long-term functional reliability. The dial is a matte black finish, with indices and the hour/minute hands coated in luminescent material. Chronograph function indicators are further highlighted with daylight luminous paint. The band lug width measures 22mm. The weight of the watch head, excluding any strap, is documented at 118 grams. GenderMen
