Limited to only 300 units, this timepiece incorporates a redesigned 43mm diameter case, meticulously crafted from bead-blasted stainless steel. The case back is securely screw-fastened, contributing to the overall structural integrity. The watch is engineered to meet the technical requirements for water resistance as defined by DIN 8310 standards, demonstrating a pressure resistance up to 10 bar, and it is also resistant to low-pressure environments. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both surfaces to maximize legibility under various lighting conditions.

At its core, the 156.1 E houses the SINN SZ01 chronograph movement, a self-winding mechanism with 28 bearing jewels. Its operational frequency is 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz), allowing for precise timekeeping. A critical feature of the SZ01 is its centrally mounted 60-minute stopwatch hand, significantly enhancing the ease and accuracy of elapsed time measurement, compared with subdials. The movement includes a seconds stop function, permitting synchronization with a reference time source.
