DescriptionThe Sinn 156.1 Chronograph, reference 156.030, represents a modern evolution of a classic pilot's watch design. Central to its functionality is the Sinn SZ01 chronograph movement, a proprietary modification that provides a jumping 60-minute stopwatch hand positioned at the center of the dial. This configuration enhances legibility, making it significantly easier to read elapsed times at a glance compared to traditional subdial layouts. The movement is housed within a newly engineered, bead-blasted stainless steel case. The case measures 43mm in diameter, with a thickness of 15.45mm and a lug width of 22mm. Attention the overall weight, without the strap attached, is specified at 98 grams.

Further elevating the 156.1 above its predecessors, the integration of a sapphire crystal glass is significant, offering greater scratch resistance when contrasted with acrylic. The case back is screw-fastened, guaranteeing structural integrity. This design contributes towards meeting the water-resistance standards outlined in DIN 8310, achieving a rating of 10 bar, signifying it can withstand the pressure. It’s also certified to being low pressure resistant. The pilot's bezel, fabricated from stainless steel, incorporates Sinn's TEGIMENT Technology, providing a hardened surface. The TEGIMENT also allows a durable Black Hard Coating. Another detail, a unique smoothly rotating captive bezel which, instead of a ratchet mechanism, rotates freely. The bezel features a minute scale and, marking a shift from the original model, a luminous triangle at the 12 o'clock position. The matte black dial is designed for supreme clarity, with numerals and hour/minute hands coated in a luminescent material to ensure readability in low-light situations.
