Quick TakeThe Sinn 903 St B E II isn't merely a watch; it's a wrist-worn navigation instrument steeped in the heritage of classic pilot chronographs. Its dark blue dial evokes the twilight sky, while the slide rule bezel whispers of complex calculations and far-flung journeys. The watch radiates a cool, calculated competence. Don't mistake its understated elegance for fragility; it's tough. The luminous hybrid ceramic elements on the hands and indices add an extra layer, providing high legibility and a modern edge. The meticulously crafted LJP L110 movement beats with a strong heart, and the column-wheel chronograph gives a feeling of crisp action. The sapphire crystal, front and back, display German engineering at its finest. Every detail, from the screw-down crown to the anti-magnetic properties, speaks volumes about its robustness. The watch is an adventure-ready companion, as sophisticated as it is sturdy.
DescriptionThe Sinn 903 St B E II, designated as reference 903.091, represents a culmination of precision engineering and horological design. Its core functionality is centered around the LJP L110 self-winding movement, a column-wheel chronograph mechanism containing 26 bearing jewels. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour, facilitating precise timekeeping and incorporating a seconds stop function for accurate synchronization. It is also anti-magnetic, conforming to the standards specified in DIN 8309, which ensures resistance to magnetic fields that can negatively affect timekeeping. The power reserve for this mechanical movement, when it is fully wound, measures at least 60 hours.
Constructed with a polished and satinized stainless steel case, the 903 St B E II is engineered to withstand demanding conditions. It meets the technical specifications of DIN 8310 for water resistance, confirming a capability of 20 bar (equivalent to a depth of approximately 200 meters) and also ensures resistance to low-pressure environments. The case measures 41 mm in diameter, with a band lug width of 22 mm and a case thickness of 14.5 mm. Its weight without the strap is 84 grams. The watch employs sapphire crystal glass for both the front, which is anti-reflective on both sides, and the transparent case back, treated with an anti-reflective coating on the interior. The winding crown can be screwed in. The dial is finished in a dark blue, complemented by silver electroplated counters and an inner bezel. The number "12" and the indices are made of hybrid ceramic, imbued with luminous elements, all of these are hand-applied. The hour and minute hands are also fashioned from hybrid ceramic with luminous elements. The watch's design incorporates a date display and a bi-directional, silver electroplated rotating bezel that is marked with a logarithmic scale, enabling slide rule calculations useful for a variety of navigational purposes.
