The core of its construction is a satinized stainless steel case, measuring 44mm in diameter and 15.5mm in thickness. This case integrates Sinn's TEGIMENT Technology, substantially increasing its surface hardness and providing superior scratch resistance. The band lug width is specified at 22mm, enabling compatibility with a range of straps. This specific configuration (900.011) includes a black cowhide leather strap that is integrated directly into the case, and it closes with a satinized stainless steel pin buckle. The case back, crucially, is nickel-free to mitigate potential allergic reactions, though it should be noted this specific component does not benefit from the TEGIMENT hardening process. The overall weight of the watch head, excluding the strap, is documented at 103 grams.
Powering the 900 PILOT is the SW 500 self-winding mechanical movement. This caliber incorporates 25 bearing jewels and operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz). A seconds stop function (also know as hacking) is included, allowing for precise time setting. The movement provides antimagnetic capabilities compliant with DIN 8309 standards and it meets all the DIN 8310 specifications.
