Quick TakeThe Sinn 900 DIAPAL isn't just a watch; it's a testament to engineering prowess, clad in a ruggedly handsome, satinized steel shell. It proudly wears its technology on its sleeve, or rather, its anthracite dial, with the "DIAPAL" inscription hinting at the lubrication-free escapement within. That tech, combined with TEGIMENT hardening and Ar-Dehumidifying, means this isn't a timepiece you'll need to baby. That 44mm case houses the LJP 8000 and features a very functional internal pilots bezel. Beyond the impressive specifications, there is a cool precision. This chronograph, with its 24-hour second time zone and magnetic field protection, feels ready for any mission, from tracking transcontinental flights to simply looking sharp at your local gathering. The 900 Diapal has a look that says, "I appreciate refined engineering, and I'm not afraid to put it to the test." It's robust, its functional and ready to make its mark.
DescriptionThe Sinn 900 DIAPAL, reference 900.013, represents a confluence of proprietary technologies designed to enhance functionality and longevity. Central to its design is the integration of DIAPAL technology, a lubrication-free anchor escapement, significantly reducing friction and wear within the movement. This crucial innovation is indicated by the "DIAPAL" inscription on the anthracite electroplated dial and contributes to the watch's extended five-year warranty. The movement itself is the LJP 8000, a self-winding mechanism with a seconds stop function. This caliber features 28 bearing jewels and operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour, meeting the anti-magnetic standards as defined by DIN 8309. The movement has column wheel chronograph and is exquisitely decorated.
Encasing the sophisticated movement is a 44mm diameter case constructed from satinized stainless steel, further enhanced by Sinn's TEGIMENT Technology. This hardening process dramatically increases the case's scratch resistance. The watch maintains functional reliability across a wide temperature range, from –45°C up to +80°C, thanks to Sinn's Temperature Resistance Technology. Ar-Dehumidifying Technology is also incorporated, minimizing internal fogging and ensuring operational integrity. Additional features include Magnetic Field Protection up to 100mT (80,000 A/m), push-pieces employing the D3-System, and a screw-down crown. The case back is nickel-free. The design also features a second time zone function, displayed on a 24-hour basis, and an interior pilot's bezel with a luminous key mark. The dial boasts meticulously hand-applied appliqués, with the appliqués, hour and minute hands coated in a luminescent material for optimal legibility. It's pressure-resistant to 20 bar, in line with DIN 8310, making it water resistant, and it remains resistant to low-pressure environments. The total case thickness is 15.5 mm, with a band lug width of 22 mm. The weight of the watch head, without the strap, comes in at 103 grams. The front crystal is made out of sapphire, that is anti-reflective on both sides.
