The case back is screw-fastened, contributing to the watch's overall structural integrity. The crown is also screwable, enhancing water resistance. The band lug width measures 20mm, and the case houses the intricate workings. The overall weight of the watch head, not the full watch with band, without the strap attached comes in at 75 grams. This watch meets the requirements for water resistence set out in standard DIN 8310.

The 356 Sa PILOT II features a highly curved sapphire crystal, produced from a 5 mm solid blank ground with five different curvature radii. Both sides of this crystal are treated with an anti-reflective coating. This crystal protects a distinctive, copper electroplated guilloché dial. Indices are coated with a luminescent material, as are the hour, minute, and stopwatch second hands, improving readability. The dial displays hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds, along with a date and day of the week display. Powering the watch is a Sellita SW 500 mechanical movement, a self-winding mechanism operating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour. This movement incorporates 25 bearing jewels and features a seconds stop function. It is protected by an anti-magnetic shield that conforms to DIN 8309 standards. The transparent case back, made of sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating, allows visual access to the movement, which showcases decorative finishing including heat treated screws, often referred to as "blued" screws.
