Quick TakeThe Sinn U16 is more than just a dive watch; it's a tangible slice of submarine history strapped to your wrist. Feel the spirit of the deep with its unique blue-green dial, evocative of ocean depths, while the case, forged from the actual steel of the decommissioned U 16 submarine, whispers tales of 207,000 nautical miles traveled. It’s robust at 44mm, satin-finished, and TEGIMENT-treated bezel, it's a tool built for serious adventure, not just a desk diver. With the 1000m water resistance and SW200-1 automatic movement ticking inside, you're wearing an underwater legacy. This watch is certified to several DIN and EN diving standards. The U16 isn’t afraid to get wet, tested to withstand pressures, and ensure performance when it counts. This limited-edition piece is more than just a watch; it’s an experience of owning some history. The indices and the hands coated with luminescent paint further exemplify the usability of the piece.
Description
The Sinn U16, reference 1026.010, represents a unique convergence of horological engineering and naval history. Limited to 1,000 units, its construction incorporates high-strength, seawater-resistant German Submarine Steel. This specific material is sourced directly from the decommissioned U 16 submarine, which served for 38 years and covered 207,000 nautical miles. The case, measuring 44.0 mm in diameter and 14.7 mm in thickness, features a satinized finish. The watch weighs 113 grams without the strap. The attached included bracelet with this set is a satinized solid stainless steel model. The screw-fastened case back is also constructed using submarine steel. The crown, positioned at 4 o'clock, is screwable, minimizing potential discomfort on the back of the hand.
The U16's unidirectional diver's bezel, is constructed from German Submarine Steel. The divers bezel is finished with a combination of satinized/polished surfaces. This bezel includes Sinn's TEGIMENT Technology, enhancing scratch resistance, and features a captive design with minute ratcheting. The dial, protected by a dual-sided, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, displays a blue-green hue, simulating the ocean depths. Indices and hands (hour, minute, and second) are coated with luminescent material for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. Functionality includes hours, minutes, seconds, and a date display. The internal mechanism is a Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement, operating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and incorporating 26 bearing jewels. It is anti-magnetic, it adheres to DIN 8309, and it has a second's stop function. The watch holds a certified 100 bar rating which equals 1000m of diving depth. The certification was issued by an independent institute. This pressure resistance has been certified by an independent institute, confirming its suitability for professional diving. It has been rigorously tested according to European diving equipment standards EN 250 and EN 14143, and German diving norm DIN 8306, with further testing conforming to DIN 8310 for water resistance. Additionally, the watch is low-pressure resistant. GenderMen
