DescriptionThe Sinn U1, reference 1010.010, represents a significant achievement in dive watch engineering. Its construction incorporates high-strength, seawater-resistant German Submarine Steel, sourced directly from ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. This material is notable for its use in the construction of the German Navy's Class 212 submarines, highlighting exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion. This submarine steel also boasts the highest non-magnetic qualities with zero rest magnetism. The watch case, with a diameter of 44 mm and a thickness of 14.7 mm, is bead-blasted to provide a matte finish. The band lug width measures 22 mm, accommodating the included solid stainless steel bracelet, also bead-blasted. The total weight of the watch head, without the strap, is 113 grams. The screw-fastened case back and screwable crown, strategically positioned at 4 o'clock, enhance water resistance and wearing comfort.

Powering the U1 is the Sellita SW 200-1, a self-winding mechanical movement. Operating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour, this 26-jewel movement includes a seconds stop function for precise time setting. It adheres to DIN 8309 standards for anti-magnetism. A double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the matte black dial. The indices, along with the hour, minute, and second hands, are coated with a luminescent material for optimal legibility in low-light conditions. The diver's bezel features minute ratcheting and a luminous key mark. Sinn's proprietary TEGIMENT Technology is applied to the captive bezel, substantially increasing its scratch resistance. The U1 has been rigorously tested and certified, meeting the technical requirements for water resistance as outlined in DIN 8310. It achieves a water and pressure resistance to a depth of 1,000 meters (100 bar) and meets testing standards EN 250 / EN14143. Its certifications highlight it passing safety pressure testing at 125 bar. Low-pressure resistance is also confirmed.
