DescriptionThe Rolex Yacht-Master 42 is a nautical wristwatch designed for professional sailors and regatta competitors. The 42 millimeter Oyster case is crafted from Rolex's proprietary RLX titanium, a grade 5 titanium alloy that is particularly lightweight, incredibly robust, and resistant to corrosion. The case features a monobloc middle case for enhanced waterproofness, a screw-down case back, and a screw-down crown with Rolex's Triplock triple waterproofness system, which is designed to withstand a depth of 100 meters (330 feet). The watch's timekeeping functionality is powered by the Rolex Calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement that offers a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day. The Calibre 3235 is equipped with a Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with resistance to magnetic interference. Additionally, the movement features a blue Parachrom hairspring, which is Rolex's proprietary hairspring alloy that is resistant to magnetism and temperature fluctuations.

The Yacht-Master 42 is fitted with a bidirectional rotatable bezel with a graduated 60-minute scale. The bezel insert is crafted from black Cerachrom, a high-tech ceramic that is exceptionally scratch-resistant, resistant to discoloration caused by UV rays, and ensures clear legibility. The bezel can be used to calculate elapsed time, such as the time between regatta starts, by aligning the luminous dot at the 12 o'clock position with the desired minute hand. The Yacht-Master 42 features a black dial with large, luminescent hour markers and hands for exceptional legibility in all lighting conditions, thanks to Rolex's Chromalight display. The Chromalight display utilizes a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow. The hour hand features a distinctive Mercedes hand design, which is a signature design element of many Rolex professional watches. The Yacht-Master 42 is completed by a Rolex Oyster bracelet. The Oyster bracelet is a three-piece link bracelet crafted from RLX titanium and features a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with an Easylink comfort extension link. The Easylink comfort extension link allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm for a more comfortable fit.
