The case features a screw-down case back and winding crown, contributing to the Sky-Dweller's impressive water resistance of up to 100 meters. A fluted bezel, a Rolex hallmark, tops the case. This rotatable bezel is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also plays a functional role in the Sky-Dweller's time zone function. The bezel works in conjunction with the watch's Ring Command system, a mechanism that allows wearers to select the watch's functions and set them sequentially in a safe and efficient manner.

Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens for magnified date viewing, the Sky-Dweller's blue-green dial offers a compelling display. The dial features central hour, minute, and second hands. At the 9 o'clock position, a rotating disc displays a 24-hour indication in clear distinction between daytime and nighttime hours.
