The watch features a 34 millimeter Oystersteel case, a robust and corrosion-resistant material that is specially developed by Rolex. The Oystersteel case is comprised of a monobloc middle case, a screw-down case back, and a screw-down winding crown. This construction, along with the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, contributes to the watch's water resistance of up to 100 meters (330 feet), making it suitable for everyday wear and even light swimming.

At the heart of the Oyster Perpetual 34 lies the caliber 2232, a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex. This chronometer-certified movement boasts exceptional precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing. The caliber 2232 is equipped with a Syloxi hairspring made of silicon with a patented geometry, which is resistant to magnetic fields and temperature variations. Additionally, the movement features high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers to protect the delicate internal components from shocks and vibrations. The self-winding mechanism, powered by a Perpetual rotor, provides the watch with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours once fully wound.
