DescriptionThe Rolex Explorer II reference 226570 is a professional-grade explorer's watch built for reliability and functionality in harsh environments. The watch features a 42 mm Oystersteel case with a fixed, 24-hour graduated bezel. The Oystersteel is a specially developed Rolex alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion. The case back and crown are screwed down to ensure water resistance to a depth of 100 meters (330 feet). The watch is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date aperture for easy reading.

The Explorer II is powered by the Rolex Calibre 3285, a self-winding mechanical movement with a 70-hour power reserve. The movement is COSC-certified chronometer, meaning that it has been tested for accuracy and precision. The Calibre 3285 features a number of Rolex innovations, including a blue Parachrom hairspring that is resistant to magnetism and shocks, and a high-performance Paraflex shock absorber system.

The Explorer II features a white dial with hour markers and hands that are coated with Chromalight luminescent material. Chromalight is a proprietary Rolex material that emits a long-lasting blue luminescence in low-light conditions. The dial also features a 24-hour hand that can be independently set to display a second time zone. The date aperture is located at the 3 o'clock position. The Explorer II is fitted with a three-piece solid link Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel. The bracelet is equipped with an Oysterlock folding safety clasp with an Easylink comfort extension link. The Easylink link allows the wearer to adjust the bracelet length by up to 5 mm for a more comfortable fit.
