DescriptionThe Rolex Deepsea is a professional-grade divers’ watch designed to withstand the crushing pressures of deep dives. The watch features a 44-millimeter Oyster case constructed from Oystersteel, a specially developed high-grade stainless steel that is resistant to corrosion. The Oyster case architecture utilizes a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back, and screw-down winding crown to ensure water resistance down to an impressive 3,900 meters (12,800 feet). The Rolex Ringlock System case architecture incorporates a helium escape valve to allow helium gas to safely escape from the watch during decompression after a dive.

The unidirectional rotatable bezel of the Rolex Deepsea features a scratch-resistant Cerachrom insert in black ceramic. The Cerachrom insert is virtually impervious to ultraviolet rays and scratches, ensuring that the bezel markings remain clear and legible over time. The bezel graduations are coated with a thin layer of platinum for a luxurious and durable finish. The black dial of the Deepsea features large Chromalight hour markers and hands, which are filled with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow for excellent legibility in dark or murky underwater conditions. The hour markers are simple shapes – triangles, circles, and rectangles – for easy reading at a glance. The Rolex Deepsea is equipped with the caliber 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement that is manufactured by Rolex. The caliber 3235 is a highly precise movement that is resistant to magnetism and shocks. The movement has a 70-hour power reserve, which means that it will continue to run for up to 70 hours after it has been fully wound. The Rolex Deepsea is fitted with an Oyster bracelet, which is a three-piece solid-link bracelet made from Oystersteel. The Oyster bracelet is designed to be both comfortable and secure, even when worn over a diving suit. The bracelet features an Oysterlock clasp, which prevents accidental opening, and a Rolex Glidelock extension system, which allows the wearer to fine-tune the fit of the bracelet without the use of any tools.
