The watch features a 40 mm Oyster case in 18 kt Everose gold, a fixed bezel in 18 kt Everose gold with an engraved tachymetric scale, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet).

The Cosmograph Daytona reference 126505 is equipped with the Rolex caliber 4131, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement that is certified by COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) to be accurate to -2/+2 seconds per day. The movement has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

The watch features a black dial with snailed chronograph counters, 18 kt gold applique hour markers, and hands with a Chromalight display, a highly legible luminescent material. The central sweep seconds hand allows for accurate reading of elapsed times down to 1/8 of a second. The two counters on the dial display the elapsed time in hours and minutes.
