DescriptionThe Richard Mille RM 37-01 Kiwi is a wristwatch from the brand's 2019 Bonbon Collection, known for its unusual and whimsical designs inspired by candy. The RM 37-01 is based on the RM 37-01 platform, a tonneau-shaped case design known for its comfort and ergonomics. The case of the RM 37-01 Kiwi is crafted from a combination of Carbon TPT® and green Quartz TPT®, creating a gradient effect that transitions from black to green. Carbon TPT® is a Richard Mille signature material, a type of layered composite featuring filaments of carbon fiber arranged in a specific pattern and saturated with a resin solution. This material is incredibly light yet strong, making it ideal for use in high-performance watches. The caseback of the RM 37-01 Kiwi is made from green Quartz TPT®, a material obtained by mixing crushed quartz with a photosensitive polymer and then exposing it to light to harden. This process allows for the creation of vibrant colors, and the green hue chosen for the RM 37-01 Kiwi complements the gradient of the case perfectly.

The dial of the RM 37-01 Kiwi is made from grade 5 titanium with a grey Titalyt® treatment. Titalyt® is a proprietary surface treatment by Richard Mille that hardens the titanium and gives it a matte finish. The playful element of the watch comes from the colorful candies adorning the dial. These miniature candies are meticulously crafted from titanium and hand-painted with acrylic paint, with a lacquer finish to give them a realistic candy-like sheen. The colors and shapes of the candies vary depending on the model, and the RM 37-01 Kiwi features a slice of kiwi fruit alongside other colorful candies.

The movement powering the RM 37-01 Kiwi is the caliber CRMA1, an automatic-winding movement developed in-house by Richard Mille. The CRMA1 is a skeletonized movement, meaning that the bridges and mainplate have been cut away to reveal the intricate workings of the movement. This skeletonization not only showcases the technical prowess of Richard Mille's watchmakers but also contributes to the lightweight design of the watch. The CRMA1 features an adjustable rotor geometry, allowing the wearer to fine-tune the winding efficiency of the movement based on their activity level. The movement also boasts an oversized date display and a function selector, which allows the wearer to easily switch between different timekeeping functions. The CRMA1 has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
