The case is crafted from Carbon TPT®, a material known for its exceptional strength and lightness. This innovative material is composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibers. These layers are then impregnated with a resin matrix and woven on a special machine that modifies the direction of the weave between layers. The resulting material is incredibly strong and resistant to wear and tear, while also being surprisingly lightweight.

The RM 07-01 is powered by the CRMA2 caliber, a highly skeletonized automatic movement designed and developed by Richard Mille specifically for this timepiece. The movement is crafted from grade 5 titanium, which is microblasted and treated with an electroplasma coating to ensure rigidity and surface flatness. This meticulous attention to detail ensures the smooth operation of the gear train and the overall reliability of the movement.

One of the most notable features of the CRMA2 caliber is its variable-geometry rotor. This innovative design allows the user to adjust the winding efficiency of the movement to their activity level. The rotor is equipped with two weights that can be adjusted and fixed in place. When the weights are positioned closer together, the inertia of the rotor is increased, and the barrel winds more quickly. Conversely, when the weights are positioned further apart, the inertia of the rotor is decreased, and the barrel winds more slowly. This allows the watch to maintain optimal power reserve regardless of how active the wearer is.
