DescriptionThe Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – 75 Years Porsche Edition, reference WAP0715030R75Y, represents a horological celebration of Porsche's 75th anniversary. Limited to 475 pieces, this timepiece draws a direct line to Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche's original 1972 Chronograph I. The watch’s architecture revolves around a case constructed from titanium, subjected to a glass bead blasting process and then enhanced with a black titanium carbide coating. This coating is not merely aesthetic; it augments the material's intrinsic durability. The case dimensions measure 28 mm x 14 mm. A threaded crown and a threaded case back, the latter fitted with a sapphire crystal, contribute to the watch's water resistance, rated up to 10 bar. The sapphire crystal is critical, offering not just visibility but superior protection, treated with a seven-fold anti-reflective coating on both sides to minimize glare under various lighting conditions, further enhanced with a hard coating, it ensures scratch resistance.

The operational core of the Chronograph 1 is the COSC-certified Porsche Design calibre WERK 01.140. This self-winding, automatic movement, with a diameter of 30.00 mm and a height of 7.90 mm, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Containing 25 jewels, its primary function, beyond timekeeping, includes a chronograph mechanism, and a dynamic energy-optimized winding rotor visible. The movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours. A tachymeter scale is present on the dial, adding functionality for speed calculations. The chronograph features an interchangeable strap system, and it comes equipped with two strap options: one is a textile/leather combination featuring light blue decorative stitching and a central red woven stripe, paying direct homage to the 75th-anniversary logo colors; the second is an all-black leather strap with matching black stitching. The rotor is styled after a Fuchs wheel, complete with a colored Porsche emblem.
