Among its most impressive features are five distinct chiming modes, including two world-first innovations by Patek Philippe. The grande sonnerie automatically chimes the hours and quarters with a passing chime for every quarter hour. For a more subdued setting, the petite sonnerie silence the quarter-hour chimes. The minute repeater complication allows the wearer to activate a chime sequence on demand, sounding the current time with distinct tones for hours, quarters, and minutes. The Ref. 6300/400G also features a world-premiere complication: an alarm with time strike that sounds a chime at a pre-programmed time.
