The watch is crafted from 18K Moonshine™ gold, a proprietary alloy developed by Omega that is said to be more resistant to tarnishing than traditional yellow gold. The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 13.2 mm in thickness. It features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on the inside. The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters (5 bar), making it suitable for everyday wear but not for serious swimming or diving.

The movement is COSC-certified and METAS-approved, meaning that it has been independently tested and guaranteed to meet strict standards for accuracy, precision, magnetic resistance, performance, and power reserve. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 is a significant upgrade over the previous Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional movement, the Calibre 1861. It offers a number of improvements, including a longer power reserve, a free sprung balance for greater shock resistance, and resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Reference 310.60.42.50.99.002 features a black ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale. The tachymeter is a scale that can be used to measure speed based on travel time. The bezel’s black ceramic is made using a process called ceramic injection molding.
