DescriptionThe Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph reference 310.60.42.50.10.001 is a wristwatch with a rich history, having been worn by astronauts on all six lunar landings. The timepiece features a complex mechanical movement with a manual winding mechanism. The caliber 3861 is a Co-Axial Master Chronometer certified movement which guarantees precision and resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The movement is housed within a 42 millimeter 18K Moonshine™ gold case. Moonshine™ gold is a proprietary alloy of 18K yellow gold developed by Omega to resist tarnishing and offer a lighter, paler color than traditional yellow gold. The caseback is made of polished 18K Moonshine™ gold and features a double bevel design with the inscription "FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON" engraved in black. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the watch face. The dial is a sun-brushed green color with a step design featuring a central zone and a lower zone. Applied blackened index hour markers with luminous tips are located around the perimeter of the dial. The watch hands are also luminous and are crafted from 18K Moonshine™ gold. The subdials are located at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The subdial located at the 3 o'clock position is a small continuous running seconds counter. The subdial located at the 6 o'clock position is a 30-minute chronograph counter. The subdial located at the 9 o'clock position is a 12-hour chronograph counter. A green ceramic bezel ring with a tachymeter scale sits atop the case. The tachymeter scale is a conversion scale that allows the wearer to calculate speed based on travel time over a fixed distance. A foldover clasp made from 18K Moonshine™ gold secures the watch to the wearer's wrist. The watch has a water resistance of 5 bar, which is equivalent to 50 meters or 167 feet. The total weight of the watch is approximately 223 grams.
