DescriptionThe Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Ref. 310.60.42.50.01.001 is a chronograph wristwatch crafted from 18K Sedna™ gold, a proprietary rose gold alloy developed by Omega. The watch features a 42 mm diameter case with a brushed and polished finish. The asymmetrical case design is inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster that was worn on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission. The bezel is made of black anodized aluminum and features a tachymeter scale for measuring speed. The dial is black with a matte finish and features luminous white hour markers and hands. The watch has a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock, a 30-minute recorder at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour recorder at 6 o'clock. The hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova luminescent material for visibility in low-light conditions.

The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Ref. 310.60.42.50.01.001 is powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a manual-winding movement that is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The movement is COSC-certified and features Omega's proprietary Co-Axial escapement, which contributes to the movement's high precision and durability. The caliber 3861 is a significant upgrade over the previous Moonwatch movement, the caliber 1861, as it offers a longer power reserve (50 hours vs. 48 hours) and a silicon balance spring, which is less susceptible to magnetic fields and temperature variations. The chronograph function of the caliber 3861 is controlled by a column wheel mechanism, which is considered to be a more robust and reliable design than the traditional cam-operated chronograph mechanisms used in many other watches.

The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Ref. 310.60.42.50.01.001 is fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on the inside. The watch is also water-resistant to 50 meters (5 bar). The watch comes on a five-arched-links-per-row bracelet made of 18K Sedna™ gold and features a fold-over clasp with a comfort setting.
