The asymmetrical case design, inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster worn on the moon, features a polished finish on the lugs and a brushed finish on the caseband. A domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the black step dial, which features applied indexes with luminous fill for low-light visibility. The iconic tachymeter scale is printed on the bezel ring, a black anodized aluminum component with a distinctive "dot over 90" marking.

The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is equipped with caliber 3861, a manual-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement.
