The watch features a 42 millimeter diameter case and a black step dial with a tachymeter bezel. The tachymeter bezel is a tool used to measure speed based on time and distance. The watch’s chronograph function allows the user to measure elapsed time. The watch’s black step dial features luminous hands and hour markers for readability in low light conditions. The watch’s stainless steel bracelet features a folding clasp with a comfort setting for ease of wear.

The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a manually wound movement. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 is a high precision mechanical movement that has been certified by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology. In order to earn METAS certification, the movement must pass a battery of tests that measure its precision, performance, and resistance to magnetic fields. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The movement’s chronograph function features a central chronograph seconds hand, a 30-minute recorder sub-dial at the 3 o’clock position, and a 12-hour recorder sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position. The movement also features a small seconds sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 has a power reserve of 50 hours.
