DescriptionThe Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition (Reference 310.20.42.50.01.001) is a wristwatch designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission. The watch features a 42-millimeter stainless steel case with a polished black ceramic bezel ring. The bezel ring features a tachymeter scale made of OMEGA Ceragold™, a proprietary gold alloy developed by Omega. The dial is varnished in grey and black, and it features hour markers and hands made of 18K Moonshine™ Gold, another Omega proprietary gold alloy. The exception is the central chronograph seconds hand, which is PVD-coated in Moonshine Gold. The 11 o'clock hour marker is unique, designed to resemble the number 11. The 9 o'clock subdial is made of 18K Moonshine™ Gold and features a laser-engraved image of Buzz Aldrin descending onto the lunar surface.

The watch's caseback is equipped with a NAIAD LOCK system, which is a design feature that allows the caseback to be securely screwed on to the case. The caseback features a number of engravings, including a laser-engraved image of Buzz Aldrin's footprint and the quote "THAT’S ONE SMALL STEP FOR A MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND" in 18K Moonshine™ Gold-plated lettering.

The Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition is powered by the Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a manual-winding movement with a power reserve of 50 hours. The movement is Co-Axial Master Chronometer certified, which means that it has been tested and certified to meet rigorous standards of precision, performance, and magnetic resistance established by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The watch is water resistant to 5 bars (50 meters / 167 feet). It comes with a polished-brushed metallic bracelet and an additional Velcro strap with black-coated cork.
