Quick TakeThis Omega Speedmaster 57 thrums with vintage heart and modern prowess. Its rich burgundy dial and "Broad Arrow" hands hark back to its racing legacy, a chronograph made for the starting grid. Yet, that retro-tinged dial sits inside a refined steel case, framing a COSC-certified heart, the Master Chronometer Calibre 9906. More than a reissue, this watch is a calculated revival. It's both nostalgic and precise, a piece fit for collectors who want to wear a bit of watchmaking history every single day. The burgundy strap anchors the whole design, a flash of color that adds a touch of playfulness to the watch's otherwise serious demeanor.
DescriptionThe Omega Speedmaster 57 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 40.5 mm (Reference 332.12.41.51.11.001) is a reissue of the iconic Speedmaster model from 1957. It features a 40.5 millimeter stainless steel case with a brushed finishing. The bezel is also made of stainless steel and includes a tachymeter scale with markings for up to 1,000 units. The tachymeter scale is a tool used to measure speed based on time and distance. For example, if you were to start the chronograph when you pass a starting point and then stop it when you pass a known distance (such as 1 kilometer), the tachymeter scale could be used to determine your average speed over that distance.

The dial of the Speedmaster 57 is burgundy with a matte finish. It features rhodium-plated hour markers and "Broad Arrow" hands, all of which are filled with white Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. Super-LumiNova is a phosphorescent material that absorbs light energy and then releases it slowly over time, making the watch hands and hour markers glow in the dark. The dial also features a date window at 6 o'clock, a small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock, and 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph recorders on the subdial at 3 o'clock. The chronograph function is a stopwatch function that can be used to measure elapsed time. The 12-hour chronograph recorder keeps track of hours, while the 60-minute chronograph recorder keeps track of minutes. The chronograph pusher at 2 o'clock starts and stops the chronograph function, while the pusher at 4 o'clock resets the chronograph to zero.

The Speedmaster 57 is water resistant to 50 meters (167 feet). This means that the watch can withstand being submerged in water up to 50 meters deep for a short period of time. However, it is not recommended for recreational diving or swimming.
