Description
The Omega Speedmaster ’57 is a reissue of the original Speedmaster released in 1957. It features a 40.5 mm stainless steel case with a brushed finish. The bezel is also made of stainless steel and includes a tachymeter scale with a blackened finish. The tachymeter scale is a tool used to measure speed based on time and distance. The watch has a red dial with rhodium-plated hour markers and hands. The hands and hour markers are filled with white Super-LumiNova, a luminescent material that allows the watch to be read in low-light conditions. The dial also features a small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock and a chronograph recorder subdial at 3 o'clock. The chronograph recorder subdial has two hands: one that measures up to 12 hours and another that measures up to 60 minutes. The date window is located at 6 o'clock.
The Omega Speedmaster ’57 is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9906, a manual-winding movement. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9906 is a Swiss-made movement that has been certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to be resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The movement also has a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.
The watch is water-resistant to 5 bars (50 meters / 167 feet). This means that it can withstand being submerged in water up to 50 meters deep. However, it is not recommended for recreational diving. The watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet with a foldover clasp with a comfort release adjustment system. The bracelet is brushed to match the finish of the case. The clasp features a button that allows the wearer to easily adjust the length of the bracelet for a comfortable fit. GenderMen
