The case measures 38 millimeters in diameter and 14.7 millimeters in thickness. The watch's circular bezel features a tachymeter scale for measuring speed and a decorative ring embellished with diamonds.

The watch face, or dial, is a sun-brushed ice blue color and features several complications alongside the standard hour and minute hands. These complications include a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time, a subdial for displaying the running seconds, and a small window at the 6 o'clock position that reveals the date. The hour markers and hands are all rhodium-plated, with the exception of the central chronograph hand, which is colored blue to contrast with the dial. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protects the watch face from damage.

The Omega Speedmaster 38 Co-Axial Chronograph is powered by the Omega Co-Axial Calibre 3330, a self-winding automatic movement equipped with a Co-Axial escapement. The Co-Axial escapement is a watchmaking innovation designed to reduce friction within the movement, thereby enhancing the watch's precision and longevity. The Calibre 3330 offers a power reserve of approximately 52 hours, meaning that the watch will continue to run for up to 52 hours after it has been removed from your wrist and allowed to stop running. The timekeeping functions of the Omega Speedmaster 38 Co-Axial Chronograph are complemented by a blue alligator leather strap secured to the wrist by a fold-over clasp made of stainless steel. The alligator leather strap has a non-grained calf leather underside for a comfortable feel against the skin. The watch's water resistance rating of 100 meters, or 10 bar, means that it can withstand submerged in water up to 100 meters deep.
