The watch case is constructed from a blend of stainless steel and 18K yellow gold, with a polished and brushed finish. The case measures 38 millimeters in diameter and 14.7 millimeters in thickness. The 18K yellow gold bezel features a tachymeter scale with markings for up to 500 units per hour, which is useful for calculating speed or distance traveled over a fixed time interval. The bezel sits atop a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides for improved readability in various lighting conditions. The watch’s caseback is decorated with a Seahorse medallion, a signature design element for Omega timepieces.

The Speedmaster 38 features a silvery opaline dial with a combination of 18K yellow gold and green hour markers.
