The caseback is transparent, allowing the wearer to view the inner workings of the Omega Co-Axial Calibre 8500, a self-winding mechanical movement that has been chronometer-certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) for its precision and performance. The Co-Axial Calibre 8500 features a free sprung balance with a silicon balance spring, which contributes to the movement's resistance to magnetism and shock. The movement also has a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

The black dial of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M features bold white Arabic numerals for hours and a luminescent coating that allows for easy readability in low-light conditions.
