DescriptionThe Grand Seiko SBGD205, part of the Masterpiece Collection, is a limited-edition timepiece, with only 10 units produced. The exterior of this watch is meticulously crafted from Platinum 950. This model showcases a see-through and screw case back, revealing the intricate workings of the movement within. The case has dimensions of 43.0mm in diameter, a lug-to-lug measurement of 51.8mm, and a thickness of 13.5mm. Encasing the dial is a box-shaped sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, ensuring optimal legibility while minimizing glare. The watch's 22mm band is made from crocodile leather, fastened securely by a three-fold clasp with a push-button release that's partly made of Platinum 900. This clasp is also partially made from PT900. The dial takes its design from the winter mornings of the Shinshu region. It features a ""diamond dust"" texture and 96 diamonds (2.25 carat) and 25 blue sapphires (1.09 carat including crown) set over an 18k white gold base.

Powering the SBGD205 is the manual-winding Spring Drive Caliber 9R01, a movement assembled by an elite team of watchmakers at the Micro Artist Studio. This movement boasts an impressive power reserve of approximately 192 hours, or 8 days, a feature that is visually represented by a power reserve indicator on the dial. The Caliber 9R01 also maintains a high level of accuracy, operating within ±10 seconds per month, which translates to an accuracy of ±0.5 seconds per day. The watch possesses a water resistance of 10 bar, making it suitable for exposure to water but not for high-impact water sports. It also offers a magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m, protecting the movement from the adverse effects of magnetic fields. Each piece features the inscription "LIMITED EDITION" and a unique serial number engraved on the case back. The SBGD205 movement contains 56 jewels. It features a form of Zaratsu polishing specially adapted for working with platinum to create the Grand Seiko signature brilliant look. Furthermore, a time difference adjustment function is integrated into the timepiece.
