DescriptionThe Grand Seiko SBGJ263 utilizes the renowned 44GS design language, originally introduced in 1967. This modern interpretation showcases numerous flat surfaces on its Ever-Brilliant Steel exterior, all polished to an impeccable, mirror-like finish. The case and bracelet are crafted from an advanced stainless steel alloy with exceptional corrosion resistance. This high-grade material exhibits a PREN value 1.7 times greater than typical steel used in luxury timepieces, ensuring lasting sharpness and brilliance. Measuring 40.0mm in diameter, 46.2mm from lug to lug, and 14.0mm thick, the watch maintains a balanced profile. It is equipped with a dual-curved sapphire crystal treated with an internal anti-reflective coating. The see-through case back, also composed of Ever-Brilliant Steel and sapphire crystal, offers a view of the movement. This construction, along with the screw-down crown, guarantees water resistance to 10 bar.

Powering the timepiece is the sophisticated Caliber 9S86, an automatic movement enhanced with manual winding capabilities and a GMT function. It operates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (Hi-Beat 36000), providing a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. The movement's precision is evident in its mean daily rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day, measured across six positions over 12 days under controlled conditions before assembly. The SBGJ263 displays local time via conventional hour and minute hands, with the hour hand adjustable in one-hour increments independent of the other hands. It also features a 24-hour hand for tracking a second time zone. The 37-jewel movement incorporates a calendar-linked time difference adjustment function. Additional features include a magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m and a total weight of 159 grams. The bracelet, fashioned from the same Ever-Brilliant Steel as the case, has a width of 19mm and features a secure three-fold clasp with a push-button release.
