This timepiece is distinguished by its aesthetic homage to the dawn sky above Mt. Iwate as viewed from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. The watch's visual centerpiece is its vibrant blue dial, complemented by a striking red accent on the interior of the sapphire crystal case back, intended to mirror the morning sun's glow. The oscillating weight, visible through the exhibition case back, further incorporates a vibrant blue hue on its titanium components, achieved via an anodic oxidation process. This technique involves subjecting the metal to electrolysis to create a colored oxide film, with the specific hue contingent upon the film's thickness and its resultant light refraction index.
