DescriptionThe Grand Seiko STGK004, a member of the Elegance Collection, represents a refined approach to horological engineering tailored for feminine aesthetics. The exterior construction incorporates an 18k yellow gold case, precisely formed and subjected to the Zaratsu polishing technique, a signature Grand Seiko method designed to achieve distortion-free, mirror-like surfaces. The case diameter measures 28.7mm, with a lug-to-lug dimension of 35.1mm and a thickness of 10.9mm. The bezel is painstakingly set with 42 diamonds, further accentuating its luxurious character. Complementing this, the delicately engraved mother-of-pearl dial is inlaid with 12 additional diamonds, marking the hours, while a larger diamond adorns the crown. Protecting the dial is a dual-curved sapphire crystal, treated with an internal anti-reflective coating to guarantee optimal legibility under various lighting conditions. Visibility of the movement is granted via a see-through, screw-down case back. The strap, crafted from crocodile leather, measures 14mm in width, integrating with the case’s proportions, and fastens using a three-fold clasp made from 18K yellow gold.

The watch is powered by the Caliber 9S27, an automatic movement also boasting manual winding capability. This movement, developed and assembled in-house at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio, operates at a mean daily rate of +8 to -3 seconds per day, which is defined as the average deviation measured across six positions over a 12-day period under controlled environmental conditions. In practical, everyday use, the expected accuracy deviates to +10 to -5 seconds per day. The 9S27 caliber provides an approximate power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound. The movement is equipped with 35 jewels, intended to reduce friction and wear within the mechanism. From an engineering perspective, the timepiece achieves a water resistance rating of 10 bar, making it suitable for exposure to water, although not diving. Furthermore, it has a magnetic resistance rating of 4,800 A/m, providing a degree of protection against the disruptive effects of magnetic fields on timekeeping accuracy.
