DescriptionThe Grand Seiko reference STGK003, part of the Elegance Collection, represents a meticulous fusion of horological engineering and refined aesthetics, specifically tailored for a feminine wrist. Constructed from 18k white gold, the case undergoes the signature Zaratsu polishing technique. This meticulous hand-finishing process results in a distortion-free, mirror-like surface. The case dimensions are precisely calibrated, featuring a diameter of 28.7mm, a lug-to-lug measurement of 35.1mm, and a thickness of 10.9mm. Protecting the dial is a dual-curved sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface to maximize legibility and minimize glare. The case back is of the see-through, screw-down variety, offering visual access to the intricate mechanical movement within. The bezel is adorned with 42 diamonds, and the mother of pearl dial is further enhanced with an additional 12 diamonds.

Powering the STGK003 is the Caliber 9S27, an automatic movement developed and assembled in-house at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio. This movement incorporates manual winding capability, adding to its versatility. The 9S27 boasts a power reserve of approximately 50 hours when fully wound. Its performance is rigorously tested, achieving a mean daily rate accuracy of +8 to -3 seconds per day. This precision is measured across six positions over 12 days, in a controlled environment, prior to the movement being cased. Under normal wearing conditions, the accuracy is rated at +10 to -5 seconds per day. The movement is further characterized by its inclusion of 35 jewels, which minimize friction and wear between moving parts. The watch offers a water resistance of 10 bar, safeguarding the mechanism from splashes and submersion in shallow water, and it provides a magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m, protecting the timekeeping from the effects of common magnetic fields. The watch is paired with a crocodile leather strap, 14mm in width, finished with a three-fold clasp. A final luxurious detail is the crown, which is set with a larger diamond.
