DescriptionThe Grand Seiko SBGW314, a member of the Elegance Collection, meticulously re-imagines the inaugural Grand Seiko wristwatch, originally produced in the middle of the last centuary. This contemporary iteration, reference SBGW314J, is strictly limited to 50 units worldwide, accentuating its exclusivity. The watch’s exterior construction utilizes 18k rose gold for the casing, presenting a warm, luxurious aesthetic. This case measures 38.0mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 45.7mm and an overall thickness of 10.9mm. The case back is a see-through design, fastened with six screws, allowing an unobstructed view of the meticulously finished movement within. A dual-curved sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface, protects the dial, ensuring optimal legibility and minimizing glare under various lighting conditions.

The SBGW314's dial is finished in a deep navy blue, described as a "starry night" theme, and is complemented by applied hour markers crafted from 18k gold, designed to reflect light and emulate the celestial display. The timepiece operates on the Caliber 9S64, a manually wound movement. This caliber offers a substantial power reserve of approximately 72 hours (3 days) when fully wound. The Caliber 9S64 has a 24 jewel movement. Its precision is rated with a mean daily rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day. The movement is adjusted and tested to meet a normal usage accuracy between +10 and -1 seconds per day. The watch demonstrates resistance to magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m, protecting its accuracy from everyday magnetic interference. Although not designed for submersion, it is rated as splash-resistant. The watch comes fitted with a navy-blue crocodile leather strap and a three-fold clasp with a push-button release, as well a brown crocodile leather strap. The entire watch, including the strap and clasp, weighs in at 94 grams. The case back is engraved with "LIMITED EDITION", along with its unique serial number.
