Its stainless steel case measures 39.0mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 44.0mm and an overall thickness of 11.6mm. The case construction includes a see-through, screw-down case back, offering a view of the meticulously finished movement. Protecting the dial is a dual-curved sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface to enhance legibility under various lighting conditions. The bracelet, also crafted from stainless steel, features a 19mm width at the lugs and secures via a three-fold clasp that incorporates a push-button release mechanism. This gives a weight of 124g for the whole timepiece.

Powering the SBGK009 is the newly developed Caliber 9S63, a manual-winding movement. This movement is designed and assembled in-house, reflecting Grand Seiko's commitment to vertical integration.
