The watch's construction centers around a stainless steel case with a diameter of 39.5mm, a lug-to-lug length of 46.9mm, and a thickness of 14.1mm. A box-shaped sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface, protects the dial. Visibility of the movement is provided by a see-through case back, secured with six screws. The stainless steel bracelet, 19mm in width at the lugs, integrates a three-fold clasp with a push-button release, ensuring secure and comfortable wear, fitting wrists up to 185mm. Total weight comes in at 150g.

Powering the SBGJ249 is the Caliber 9S86, an automatic movement featuring manual winding capability. The movement contains the Hi-Beat designation with a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), contributing to its high accuracy. The 9S86 maintains a power reserve of approximately 55 hours when fully wound. Its precision is rated at a mean daily rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day.
