This limited edition, restricted to 700 pieces, houses the manual-winding Caliber 9R31 movement, visible through a see-through, screw-down case back crafted from stainless steel. The movement is notable for its dual-spring barrel architecture. This design incorporates two mainsprings arranged in parallel, a configuration that enables an extended power reserve of approximately 72 hours (3 days). The movement's precision is rated at an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, which translates to approximately ±1 second per day, a testament to Grand Seiko’s dedication to timekeeping excellence. The case back bears an engraving that marks it's "LIMITED EDITION" status.

The exterior of the SBGY035 exhibits meticulous craftsmanship. A dual-curved sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface, protects the dial. The stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter, 43.7mm lug-to-lug, and 10.2mm in thickness, providing a balanced presence on the wrist.
