DescriptionThe Fortis Marinemaster M-40, reference F8120026, is constructed with a case meticulously crafted from recycled stainless steel, measuring 40mm in diameter and exhibiting a lug-to-lug dimension of 43mm. This case design contributes to a streamlined profile on the wrist, while maintaining a robust presence. The case height measures 12mm, offering a balanced profile that is neither overly bulky nor insubstantial. The watch head, sans strap, registers a weight of 76 grams. Sealing the case is a screw-down crown, designed with a triple gasket system, and enhanced by Performance FKM gaskets. This meticulous sealing, combined with the robust construction, affords the timepiece an impressive water resistance rating of 300 meters, 1000 feet, or 30 atmospheres, making it suitable for professional diving activities. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on both the interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring superior legibility under varying light conditions. The case back is made out of stainless steel, and features ultra-engraving.

Turning to the dial, the watch presents a black surface adorned with the Fortis "o-pattern" and features applied numerals, ensuring high visibility. The hour and minute hands utilize a metallic construction, and is also coated with Superluminova®X1, which emits a blue glow, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions. The sweep second hand is rendered in a metallic finish and includes a "Bull's Eye" indicator, filled with Superluminova®X1. The M-40 houses the automatic Performance Calibre UW-30. This movement features a date complication, and is regulated to chronometer. The unidirectional Gear Bezel® provides precise timing capabilities for tracking elapsed time, an essential function for dive watches. The UW-30 provides a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound. The M-40 is mounted to the Horizion Strap. The strap utilizes hypoallergenic FKM rubber, which resists degradation from heat, chemicals, and ultraviolet radiation. A stainless steel pin buckle secures the strap, and the strap is connected with a screw pin system.
