DescriptionThe Fortis Marinemaster M-40, reference F8120024, is constructed around a 40mm case fabricated from recycled stainless steel. This case exhibits a height of 12mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 43mm, contributing to its on-wrist presence, and it registers a watch head weight of 76 grams. The case incorporates a unidirectional Gear Bezel®, specifically designed for precise timing during dives or other activities requiring elapsed time measurement. Water resistance is rated to 300 meters (1000 feet, 30 atmospheres), ensured by a screw-down crown featuring a triple gasket system, augmented by Performance FKM gaskets throughout the case construction. The caseback material is comprised of Stainless Steel, and features "Ultra-Engraving". Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on both the interior and exterior surfaces, maximizing legibility under various lighting conditions.

The dial itself is presented in an amber orange hue, featuring the distinctive Fortis O-pattern. Applied indices and hands are coated with Superluminova®X1, a luminous material that emits a blue glow in low-light environments. The sweep second hand is also finished in a metallic tone and includes a Superluminova®X1 "Bull's Eye" detail. Powering the watch is the automatic Performance Calibre UW-30, regulated with chronometer grade and it offers a date complication. The movement provides a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound. The included Horizon Strap is built from hypoallergenic FKM rubber. The strap attaches to the case, with a pin buckle constructed of stainless steel, via a screw pin system, securing the watch to the wrist. The strap's FKM rubber design has excellent resistance to heat, a plethora of chemicals and damaging UV Radiation.
