DescriptionThe Fortis Flieger F-43 Bicompax, reference F4240009, is presented in a substantial 43mm case constructed from recycled stainless steel, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 54mm and a height of 15.5mm. The watch head, independent of the strap, weighs 118 grams. Case integrity is enhanced by a screw-down crown featuring a triple gasket system, complemented by performance FKM gaskets throughout. A sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on both surfaces, protects the dial, maximizing visibility under various lighting conditions. The case back is also made out of stainless steel, with "ultra-engraving."

The dial itself features a vertically brushed petrol color, providing a distinctive backdrop for the timekeeping elements. The "Brixtrack®" is an applied, circularly brushed element, enhancing the legibility and visual depth. White Brix and "Synchroline®" elements are constructed using Superluminova®X1, a luminescent material that emits a green glow in low-light environments, ensuring readability in darkness. Hour, minute, and sweep-second hands are crafted from metal and also treated with Superluminova®X1. Counter hands for the chronograph functions are a standard metallic finish. Powering the watch is the automatic performance Calibre UW-51, providing a power reserve of 48 hours, this movement includes a chronograph function and a date display. The UW-51 has a Chronometer-grade regulation. Water resistance is a very robust 200 meters (600 feet, 20 atmospheres). The attached strap is an aviator-style made from cowhide leather. The production process focuses on sustainability, involving vegetable tanning and handcrafting in Germany. This double-folded strap avoids superfluous filling materials, contributing to an ergonomic and environmentally conscious design. A stainless steel pin buckle secures the strap, and the strap is mounted to the case via a screw pin system.
