That multi-level dial is pure mechanical theater – you've got the gorgeous hand-guilloché base shimmering away, and then boom, right on top, the bridges and gears for the regulator display are just out there, doing their thing. It’s like they took the concept of a regulator, which already separates out the time functions, and cranked the visibility up to eleven. The bright yellow guilloché really pops against the steel and the dark bridges, making it super legible despite the complexity. DescriptionThis instrument features a stainless steel case construction composed of 16 individual parts, measuring 41 mm in diameter and 13.85 mm in height. The case utilizes a combination of surface treatments, incorporating partly polished sections contrasted with areas exhibiting a vertical satin finish. Attachment points for the strap accommodate a 21 mm band width. Protection for the dial is provided by a curved, non-reflecting sapphire crystal, secured by a polished screw-down bezel characterized by a full thread and side knurling. Ensuring structural integrity and water resistance, the case back is a screw-down type, featuring a satin finish and an integrated sapphire crystal for movement observation. An onion-style crown facilitates time-setting and winding operations. The assembly provides water resistance rated to 10 bar, equivalent to a depth of 100 meters.

Powering the timekeeping functions is the Caliber C.299 automatic movement, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 alternations per hour. This mechanism incorporates 31 jewels and delivers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours when fully wound. Finishing details within the movement include rhodium plating applied to the pallet and bridges, which feature spiral offsets. Fasteners consist of either thermally blued or polished screws. The rotor, visible through the exhibition case back, is skeletonized, treated with a galvanic black coating, and adorned with Côtes de Genève and Colimaçon finishing patterns; it pivots on a ball bearing system. The dial presents an elaborate, multi-level construction. Its base layer is decorated with hand-applied guilloché work. Positioned above this is the upper level, which serves as the mounting platform for screwed-on, skeletonized train wheel bridges and distinctive funnel-like structures housing the hour and second indications. Time is displayed via off-centre hours positioned at 12:00, central minutes, and a small seconds sub-dial situated at 6:00. This specific reference, CH-8753-YEBK, is designated as a limited edition release, restricted to 35 units, and incorporates the notable "open gear" mechanism alongside a retrograde seconds function. The hands are lacquered "Trigono" style, featuring Super-LumiNova inlays for low-light visibility; the minute hand is carefully bent by hand, and the seconds hand employs an innovative design. The timepiece is secured to the wrist by a hand-sewn Louisiana alligator leather strap equipped with a folding clasp.
