Encased in robust stainless steel, it features a unidirectional ratcheted bezel for safely timing dives and a screw-locked crown with two gaskets for enhanced water resistance. The cambered sapphire crystal, glareproofed on both sides, ensures optimal readability in any condition. With a diameter of 36mm and a thickness of 12.21mm, the watch strikes a balance between a substantial presence on the wrist and everyday wearability. It has a lug-to-lug height of 42.41mm and a lug width of 18mm.

Powering the Superocean Automatic 36 is the Breitling 17, a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. This chronometer-certified caliber vibrates at 28,800 v.p.h and contains 26 jewels. The movement, along with the rest of the watch components, contributes to a total weight of 101g (with the strap) and 57.7g for the watch head alone.
