OX Oceanix is a relatively new watch brand, established in the USA in 2021. The brand's origin story traces back to a moment of inspiration experienced by founder Joseph Bolart during a sunset in Almería, Spain. Bolart, a mechanical engineer, industrial design master, and NAUI Instructor, combined his passions for watchmaking and diving to create the brand's inaugural timepiece, the FROG300.
Launched on July 4, 2023, the FROG300 is a diver's watch rated to 300 meters (1000 feet). OX Oceanix emphasizes that the FROG300 blends traditional mechanical watchmaking with innovative, practical technology, positioning it as a next-generation tool for divers and explorers. Key personnel at OX Oceanix include COO Stéphane Levesque, who brings extensive business administration experience, and production partners Eric and Sky Ma, the facilities are based in Shenzhen.
The first units are slated for delivery before Christmas 2024. The company highlights that these are limited-production pieces. The FROG300 does not utilize standard watchmaking or auxiliary industry screws. OX Oceanix time pieces are assembled in a new facilities center in Shenzhen. The watches use a premium true GMT caliber sourced from Miyota Japan (Citizen Movement Division), which is then personalized in-house. The FROG300 is presented as representing exceptional value and quality.
